Van Life Camping In The Mountains
Well we are talking about Colorado again. And there is a good reason. This incredible place you're seeing below is called Twin Lakes and you can pull your van right up to it in the mountains and stay over night there. We found this spot on IOverlander witch it where we find almost everything on our travels. So let’s dive more into it.
When we found this spot on IOverlander we didn’t know the road would be rough getting in. As long as we went slow we were fine but it was narrow and very rocky. When we pulled up were found a spot by the water and in between two mountains and was absolutely in love. This was the first week we had experiencing van life and when we really fell in love with the lifestyle. We rented the van you are seeing by a guy named Will and wanted to get a taste of the life style before we committed to it. And as you can see we really did love everything about it. Even the dirty feet!
Colorado is its own kind of beauty and with all the aspen trees and huge mountains and lush waterfalls this is every outdoor persons paradise.
I remember doing some research for this area when we knew we were going to rent the van. I studied the area we picked the van up from and how far out we could go because when you rent a camper van or RV you are limited to the miles you can go for the most part. So knowing this I did some research and found so any amazing places right around the city Aspen with only about an hour drive.
In the photo above on the Left you can see highlighted in blue with the number 22 that this is twin Lakes where we stayed. The 22 means it has 22 places where others have camped before and left this spot a review for others. You can see its not to far at all from Aspen. The photo on the Right is that same area just zoomed in so you can see the lakes and some of the spots people have stayed or if it’s a spot to just check out for the day. In the IOverlander app on your phone or computer it has so much more on there than places to stay. The app has places to get water, dump stations, propane fill ups, showers and places to do your laundry. The app is one of many that is so helpful for nomads.
